About me
Hey! I’m Mark Melkumyan, a technical artist, programmer, and illustrator. Nice to meet you! 👋
I graduated from Drexel University in 2023 with a major in Computer Science, concentrations in Computer Graphics and Game Programming, and a minor in Animation and VFX. Currently, I work as a Software Engineer creating AI tools for architectural design🏗️.
I’m fascinated by the space between art and technology, which led me to the world of computer graphics! I’ve always loved math, geometry, computers, and art, so I truly feel at home in this field 😁. I’m primarily interested in procedural generation, pipeline tools, shaders, and game development.
Outside of my professional life I love drawing! I’ve been creating cartoons and comics my whole life. You can check out my 2D art on my art Instagram here! —> instagram.com/marklikesart/.
My other hobbies include hiking 🏔️, playing video games 🎮, playing the bass guitar 🎸, and exploring my home city of Philly 🏙️.
I’m also first generation! My parents are both from the former USSR (my father is Armenian, and my mother is Tatar). My sister is awesome too, check out her Substack here!
Here’s a quick list of all my favorite things :)
Video Games 🎮: Pikmin, The Legend of Zelda (WindWaker and BotW), and indie games (rogue likes and metroidvanias).
Music 🎵: Alt Rock (Two Door Cinema Club, Cage the Elephant, The Black Keys), Electronic (Ratatat, Emancipator), and anything funky!
Movies 🎞️: The Incredibles
Food 🥨: Philly Pretzels
